Jonathan Rochkind
Jonathan Rochkind is the Director of Research at Public Agenda. Working on many different social issues, Rochkind has designed research and reported on subjects as diverse as immigration, energy, foreign policy and perceptions of HIV/AIDS in America today. He has also worked extensively on the topic of United States education, including perspectives of first-year teachers entering the profession, what parents and students think about math and science and attitudes the public has on the role of, and difficulty in, attaining higher education.
He has given numerous presentations on Public Agenda's research, including "Indiana's Future: Equity, Excellence and Education for Economic Success" for the Center for Excellence in Leadership and Learning, on November 2007, as well as his more recent presentation for the Eastern Tennessee State University Conference, "Confronting the Math and Science Challenge: Examining the Issues and Gaining Insights on How Others are Addressing STEM Education," in May 2008.
Jonathan was previously the research director at Princeton Data Source, a subsidiary of Princeton Survey Research Associates, where he helped design methodologies for the Pew Research Center, The Kaiser Family Foundation, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and others. He also was employed at Abt Associates, where he worked on the National Immunization Study and a longitudinal study on the prevalence and incidence of chronic fatigue syndrome in Wichita, Kansas, both for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
