Through our Democracy Accelerator program, Public Agenda connects practitioners, researchers, and resources to identify key questions about democracy, investigate them rigorously, and offer actionable evidence that people can leverage to make change. The Accelerator is our response to a pressing need for insight in the movement to renew American democracy.
Despite a recent surge in innovation to strengthen American democracy, and a corresponding increase in philanthropic resources, we lack the evidence base needed to guide action and investment to make our democracy healthy and resilient. The Democracy Accelerator catalyzes research, synthesizes findings, and translates them into plain-language guidance for policymakers, advocates, journalists, and philanthropists. The Accelerator helps ensure that the creative energy of innovators and the resources of philanthropy are applied with maximal effectiveness to meet the enormous challenge of achieving the democracy every citizen deserves.
